Easter 2023

This is the first Easter since like 2018 that I’m going to step foot into a church. My church hurt is still very real and very raw. Through the years, I have clung to God. At times I felt as if I was simply just holding on to the end of his garments being dragged through life but still clinging on to my faith as best as I could. But He’s developed a faith in me that I simply wouldn’t have gotten if I had stayed in church.

Am I anxious to return? Oh my goodness yes. I feel like I need a Xanax.

Am I excited to return? Im pretty skeptical to be honest.

Am I doing it anyways? Yes. Because honestly, Kaaria has been asking about God and wanting to go to church. I will not deny her. Plus, I’m starting to feel the Holy Spirit nudge me and say “Let’s try again. I’m with you.”

So to all of you out there who can’t bring yourself to go to church this morning, I see you. Most importantly, God sees you. He hears you. He’s fighting for you. He’s not giving up on you, no matter what anyone has told you. His love for you is beyond any comprehension.

I hope you find peace in that today and every single day onward.

Love always,

Jess
